Dear Supporter,
Like many in our city, we have been holding a heavy heart. In recent days, there has also been a sense of relief—relief that answers were found—but we know that for many, the road to healing is only beginning.
Moments like these remind us who we are. We are a community that responds with compassion, steadiness, and connection, and that care shows up in quiet, meaningful ways every day.
At Family Service of Rhode Island, our work is rooted in showing up—before, during, and long after moments of crisis fade from the headlines. In the wake of recent events, our teams supported individuals and families impacted across our community. At the same time, more than 20 programs continued their daily work: helping children feel safe, supporting families under stress, providing mental health care, stabilizing housing, and strengthening resilience across generations.
This is the work you make possible.
As the year comes to a close, we wanted to reach out not with urgency, but with gratitude—and an invitation. If you choose to make an end-of-year gift, you are investing in something steady and lasting: care that does not disappear when the news cycle moves on.
Your support ensures that when our community needs connection, healing, or hope—whether today or months from now—Family Service of Rhode Island will be there.
Thank you for standing with Rhode Island, in care, resilience, and community.
With appreciation,
Margaret Holland McDuff
CEO, Family Service of Rhode Island
