What is a CCBHC?

  • CCBHCs were created through the “Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Act” to expand access to behavioral healthcare in America.
  • CCBHCs serve anyone needing mental health or substance use treatment– regardless of their insurance coverage, residence, or ability to pay. Click here, for our sliding fee scale.
  • CCBHCs currently serve an estimated 1.5 million people (across the US) and are a critical part of the safety net, providing care for people with serious mental illnesses and substance use disorders.

Community Advisory Board (CAB)

A Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a group of community members, stakeholders, and organizational representatives who provide guidance, feedback, and recommendations to help shape the programs and services we offer.

For a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), the Advisory Board helps ensure that our programs are representative of and responsive to the needs of the people and communities we serve.

Attend CAB Meetings

Meetings are typically scheduled virtually for the last Tuesday of each month. If you are experincing any barriers to attending, please contact us at cab@familyserviceri.org.

Our CAB in Action

The true measure of a Community Advisory Board is the change it creates. At FSRI, the feedback and guidance provided by our CAB members directly shapes how we grow, connect, and show up for the communities we serve.

Based on direct feedback from the clients we serve, FSRI is actively expanding initiatives to develop a more representative workforce — one that reflects the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities of our community.

When clients shared that FSRI wasn’t offering enough family-focused events, we listened. We responded by hosting a Trunk or Treat celebration and several resource fairs and workshops at our RISE Recovery Resource Center — all open to the broader community.

Client feedback told us our social media presence wasn’t doing enough to keep the community informed. We took that to heart and refreshed our platforms to better showcase what’s happening at FSRI — from upcoming events and resources to trainings and more.
