Innovating Pathways for Investing in Youth
Family Service of Rhode Island, in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth & Families and Rhode Island College, is proud to host the Advancing Juvenile Justice Conference on Thursday, December 12th, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Rhode Island College’s Gaige Hall.
This year’s conference will bring together leaders, advocates, and practitioners committed to improving outcomes for youth and families across our state. We are honored to welcome U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse as our keynote speaker. Senator Whitehouse played a leading role in the 2018 reauthorization of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act, strengthening protections for young people nationwide and advancing more effective, evidence-based reforms that continue to shape policy today.
Following Senator Whitehouse’s keynote, participants will hear from an engaging panel of experts, practitioners, and advocates who will explore innovative strategies and opportunities to build a fairer, more responsive juvenile justice system. Together, we will consider how to translate policy into practice, address inequities, and ensure that every young person has the opportunity to thrive.
Panelists will be announced once all have confirmed. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are being applied for. Registration is $25, with an early bird discount available until November 24th.
Stay tuned for more updates—and join us as we work together to advance equity, reform, and opportunity within Rhode Island’s juvenile justice system.
