Who May Become a Foster Parent?
You must be at least 21 years old, and a Rhode Island resident. You may be single, partnered or married. Contact us for further information about other requirements.
We take pride in all families! Family Service of Rhode Island's program is LGBTQQI welcoming.
What about Adoption?
FSRI provides comprehensive support and services to families as they navigate the foster care and adoption system, including respite care.

Foster parents receive financial support too, including monthly, tax-free stipend; full medical and dental coverage for the foster child; and free child care is available for working foster parents.
Foster Care Support
Foster parents are provided training and receive help from a team of clinicians and case managers, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
