Traning & Support
At FSRI, we set you up for success every step of the way. All foster parents receive comprehensive pre-placement training through a 10-week TIPS-MAPP course (Trauma-Informed Partnering for Safety and Permanence Model Approach to Partnerships and Parenting). Once licensed, FSRI foster parents have access to dedicated case management, ongoing clinical support, and FSRI’s 24-hour on-call crisis support line — so help is always just a phone call away.
In addition, we provide specialized, ongoing training tailored to the unique needs and challenges of the children placed in your care, ensuring you always feel supported, prepared, and empowered to make a difference.
An Urgent Neet
Although there are many foster children who need homes, of the children who need homes, there are specific groups that struggle to find placements more than others. There is an urgent need for foster families for the following:
- Teenagers and young adults
- LGBTQIA+ youth
- Youth with medical and behavioral needs
- Sibling sets of three or more
