Providence Children's Initiative

Providence Children's Initiative

Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) created the Providence Children's Initiative (PCI) to help improve Providence's South Side and West End Neighborhoods.

Our goal is healthy neighborhoods. That means improved educational, employment, recreational and physical and mental health outcomes.

Community partnerships are key. FSRI works closely with residents, government, schools, community organizations, health centers and businesses.

Providence Children's Initiative does outreach in city parks. Child having lunch in a park.

Have You Heard About the Walking School Bus?

Much of PCI's work has been focused in schools--for example, the nationally recognized Walking School Bus, and Full Service Community Schools.
