Annual Victim’s Grove Ceremony in honor of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

Updated: Apr 9, 2019

Every April, the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) leads communities throughout the country in their annual observances of NCVRW.

This year, OVC will commemorate NCVRW April 7–13. This year's NCVRW theme—Honoring Our Past. Creating Hope for the Future.—celebrates the progress made by those before us as we look to a future of crime victim services that is even more inclusive, accessible, and trauma-informed.

For the third year in a row, FSRI has been awarded a NCVRW Community Awareness Project Grant. These grants are awarded annually to communities across the nation with the purpose of funding initiatives that increase the general public's awareness about NCVRW, victims' rights and available services. Grant funds will support the Annual Victim’s Grove Ceremony, which will take place this year on Wednesday, April 10th at 12:30 pm in Veterans Memorial Park in Providence. The ceremony gathers RI dignitaries, victim service providers, crime survivors and other community members in recognizing all who support, advocate for, and honor the rights and dignity of Rhode Island victims of crime. Please join us as we raise awareness for victims of crime and their families.
