The Rhode Island State Victim Assistance Academy (RISVAA) provides foundation-level training for professionals in the field of victim services. The Academy was designed to bring service providers together in an interactive, educational setting to encourage creative thinking about ways to best help victims of crime and to build collaborative partnerships within the victim services community. The RISVAA is organized and conducted by Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) and hosted by the Roger Williams University (RWU) Justice System Training & Research Institute (JSTRI).
The 40-hour RISVAA will be presented by experts in the field over 5 consecutive Tuesdays at the RWU Baypoint Inn & Conference Center located at 144 Anthony Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
Cost/Capacity: $250 for attendees seeking 29 RI NASW CEUs (including 3 Professional Ethics & 5 Cross-Cultural Practice). All others $150. Breakfast and lunch provided. Registration cancellation must be received by July 5th or full fee will be charged. Space is limited Waitlisted individuals will be contacted as soon as a seat becomes available.
