Trauma Systems Therapy
FSRI is the only Rhode Island agency providing the New York University evidence-informed model of care. Trauma Systems Therapy is an intensive, home-based service involving a clinician and case manager meeting with the client, family, placement or foster family multiple hours per week to stabilize behavior.
Functional Family Therapy
Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a family oriented, evidenced based treatment that can be implemented in an office or community setting for adolescents aged 11-18. This strength focused approach involves the family meeting 1-2 times per week to help to improve child and parent relationships.
Enhanced Outpatient Services (EOS) Child and Adult
An intensive home-based service which involves a clinician and case manager meeting with the client, family, placement or foster family multiple hours per week to stabilize behavior and prevent placement or hospitalization. FSRI utilizes a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to treatment.
FSRI also provides Child and Adolescent Intensive Treatment Services (CAITS), Child and Family Intensive Treatment (CFIT), and Family Stabilization Team (FST). All are short-term intensive treatment for children needing more than traditional outpatient mental health counseling. All are provided primarily in the home. Please contact us for more information.

What is School-Based Mental Health Counseling?
School-based mental health counseling is similar to office-based except services are provided to children (and adults in some cases) at school during the school day and after school.
Does My Child's School Provide This Service?
We suggest you ask your principal or call us. School-based mental health counseling is frequently available, and FSRI hopes to make it even more available across Rhode Island in the years ahead.
How Long Does the Counseling Last?
The length of the counseling depends on the needs of the involved child, adult or family. Sometimes it is a short period of time; in some cases services may need to be long-term.
Who Pays for It?
The counseling is usually covered by insurance. If not, other arrangements may be available.
