06/24/11 Teaming with RI Hospital for Foster Kids
Rhode Island Hospital is joining with Family Service of Rhode Island’s Treatment Foster Care Program to find homes for needy Rhode Island youngsters.
An informational meeting will be held beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29th at the hospital’s George Auditorium. “This is open to the general public as well as Rhode Island Hospital employees,” said Greg Wright, Treatment Foster Care Program coordinator. He thanked Rhode Island Hospital for hosting the session. “This is a first for us, and we’re most grateful that Rhode Island Hospital is opening their doors to help.”
Anyone with any interest in foster parenting is invited to stop and get more information. “Even if it’s crossed your mind as something you’d like to do in the future, please come by,” he said.
The meeting on June 29th will provide information on the process to become a foster parent, and there will be an opportunity for questions and answers as well. Refreshments will be served.
Family Service of Rhode Island is dedicated to placing these children in emergency, temporary, or permanent foster homes. “From talking to our many foster parents over the years, there is nothing more rewarding than making a significant change in a child’s life,” says Wright. “Every child deserves a nurturing childhood, and Family Service of Rhode Island and Rhode Island Hospital are teaming up to ask Rhode Islanders to help.”
