12/26/06 Family Service of Rhode Island Receives $5,000 Grant   The Mary Dexter Chafee Fund has awarded Family Service of Rhode Island $5,000 to assist in preserving and protecting a historic house the agency utilizes as a group home for girls. The 1840s Greek revival structure is on the national register of historic buildings as a contributing structure to the Bristol (RI) Historic Waterfront District.  The house is home to adolescent girls who have grown up under difficult circumstances and cannot live with their families or do not have families.   (end)
