Family Service of Rhode Island honored Bank of America and National Grid as the agency's Partners in Philanthropy, 2010 at the National Philanthropy Day breakfast Tuesday, November 23 at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick.

Bank of America's commitment has been a vital and consistent force behind Family Service of Rhode Island's annual event, Brighter Futures--a critical fundraiser and a popular lunchtime happening for the business community. Bank of America market president William Hatfield was a founding co-chair in 2005, and the bank has been a top level sponsor every year.

National Grid regional president Michael Ryan has served as co-chair of the Brighter Futures fundraiser twice. In addition, National Grid became a major supporter of Providence Children's Initiative, a new project headed by Family Service of Rhode Island to improve the lives of Providence's Families.
Bank of America's Glen Martin and National Grid's Marisa Albanese serve on Family Service of RI's board of directors.
The Philanthropy Day event is a project of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
