08/12/08 Family Service of RI Earns Better Business Bureau Accreditation    Family Service of Rhode Island has earned certification from the Better Business Bureau (BBB), one of only 4 non-profits earning accreditation in the Ocean State. “With public scrutiny of charity accountability continuing to grow, the BBB Charity Seal gives an important acknowledgement of Family Service of Rhode Island’s exemplary ethics and responsibility,” said Paula Fleming, vice president of communications and marketing, Better Business Bureau. As noted on the BBB website, the BBB Standards for Charity Accountability were developed to assist donors in making sound giving decisions and to foster public confidence. “Family Service of RI is committed to public accountability and to meeting the highest standards,” said Family Service of RI CEO Margaret Holland McDuff, noting that the agency is also accredited by the Council on Accreditation.
